The ACR I-CARD (Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card) is a major government project with the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines. The ACR I-Card Project automates the process of alien registration and provides more convenience to aliens in transactions such as applications for return permits, exit permits and annual reports. The present system uses tamper-proof Smart Cards to store the alien’s information, replacing traditional paper-based certificates carried by the aliens.
The ACR I-Card is a microchip-based credit card-sized identification card issued to registered foreigners replacing the paper-based ACR. It has an embedded computer chip with biometric security features capable of data management and can be updated electronically.
The ACR I-Card Project automates the entire process of alien registration and integrates the issuance of various paper-based foreign national documentations into a microchip-based identification card called the ACR I-Card.
The ACR I-Card also serves as the Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC), Re-entry Permit (RP) and Special Return Certificate (SRC) of the holder. This self-service solution allows aliens to access transactions like application for return permits, exit permits, and reports.
